Breakfast is the first meal of the day, which then kick starts the metabolism. Which is the process by which the body converts the fuel in food into energy. Then when the metabolism gets moving the body then starts burning calories people who don't eat breakfast often consume more calories throughout the day and are often overweight. Lunch is the abbreviation for luncheon, it is meal eaten around midday. During the 20th century, the meaning narrowed to small or a mid-sized meal eaten at midday. Lunch is commonly the second meal of the day after breakfast. Up until the early 19th century luncheon was generally reserved for the ladies who would have lunch with another when their husbands were out.
